so instead of sneaking into ‘made in america’ saturday, i got invited to a photographer meet up unlike no other. the meet ups i’ve been to are usually boring and are attended by senior citizens. needless to say i was a little apprehensive.
upon arriving i quickly realized the name ‘flask mob’ wasn’t just a clever play on words, it was a call to action. some people had flasks while others just walked around with bottles of hennessy. there were people in masks, models in costumes, and even some fire spitters.
after about a half hour in pershing square, at least 2-3 hundred photographers, models, and people just along for the ride embarked on a walk around downtown los angeles. we walked through alleys and played with fire, completely taking downtown by surprise. luckily nobody went to jail (that i know of) and the night turned out to be a successful walkabout.
not only did i get to meet van styles, it felt great being around so many creatives at once. good vibes all around. i will definitely be at the next one and you should too. follow flaskmob on instagram to join in on the fun next time.
