apliiq adventure: cruisin’ the los angeles cicLAvia

by

Cyclists were in full force last weekend at cicLAvia, a huuuuuge event with over 100,000 participants. For the first time, the route extended from downtown LA to Venice beach! The roads were shut down to car traffic and instead jammed packed with bicycle traffic. There were even DJs spinning music on the streets and local vendors spraying participants with water guns! Apliiq was rode the entire loop and saw quite a bit of action.

There were all types of people like moms on tricycles, little kids, professional cyclists, and of course, our favorite, the fixie riders. You didn’t have to look hard to find all the eye candy either. Fine people everywhere. Los Angelinos, you are beautiful!

Sometimes, it felt like we were just hanging out in the street more than riding… that’s LA for ya… sit back, relax, and enjoy the traffic.

It was a cool urban scenic route for the riders. We rode over bridges, through tunnels, and overpasses on top of our many freeways. Did you see Apliiq anywhere?

While riding, we saw a lot of groups in distinct costumes. For the next ride, keep apliiq in mind for your custom costume needs! You and your friends can design your own matching uniforms for the ride! Check out all our fabric patterns that you can use to rep your style.

Here are a couple fabrics that we think would be especially relevant for your next group bike ride!

Overall, cicLAvia was a stellar experience and biking 30 miles was an active way to spend our Sunday. We encourage any LA locals to get out there next time around! So… what do you have planned for this weekend?! Definitely consider a bike ride to the beach while rocking your favorite bicycle print fabric!
